Anyone who uses a computer should know touch typing. Speed is not important, but accuracy is! Learning touch typing is fun with TuxTyping, an Open Source project.

Children and young people will love this typing tutor. TuxTyping is an Open Source typing tutor that uses the Linux Penguin. When you play "Fish Cascade", the penguin eats fish when you type the letters. This program is graphical, and copyrighted under the Gnu General Public License and is considered educational software. TuxTyping shows finger placement, has practice typing and speed tests. The software has word lists and typing lessons. When you start typing the software plays soft background music. You do not need to be a computer geek to use this software, minimal skills are all you need.

Teachers love Tuxtyping because they can group exercises together and design lessons for individual students. Lessons can be uploaded and school children will love to play the games. Parents and children will both enjoy typing the game programs because they are fun to play! The newest game is Comet Zap, Tux, the penguin has the task of protecting 9 cities!

The program comes in 15 different languages and includes maps on the web site for most of the countries.
